Did you ever think you’d be where you are today?
Mar 10, 2025Many of us will say, NO!
You may be in a job that is undesirable, a marriage that is challenging, in widowhood way to young, in financial strains, a body that is failing too young …. you fill in the blank ______.
There are two ways to think about situations that seem questionable and challenging.
- Negatively – Asking the why to a situation that may never be answered.
- Positively – Taking gratitude and trust to the forefront of our mind with a more positive perspective of the situation.
Either mindset choice will not make the situation go away, we need to live through it. It’s all about thinking, choices, and perspective so we can make it through the day - - - then tomorrow, then next week, then…. you get it.
We each have an individual story to share about the WHY of the circumstances and it’s not taken lightly because it does have its own uniqueness to you. God knows all the details. When we are in communication with Him, He can help the direction of our mindset. He’s our Father, He knows all, and will bring peace and contentment to our circumstances regardless of others understanding it.
In my background, there are many negative situations that have happened to me by others and those that were self-inflicted. Bad choices led to years of heartache, trauma, depression, and addiction to cope. Then God grabbed my heart and showed His mercy and grace and began to restore a broken soul. It’s been over 30 years since this life-changing encounter. The healing has been long and painful but one I will never regret taking, the pain was worth it!
The journey I have travelled is one I share with other women to know there is hope in the storms of life. The gift God gave me is to encourage women to find a relationship with God and to keep it strengthened. When this relationship is developed you find yourself and the purpose God has for you which leads to sharing it with others, specifically the next generation.
So, the ember I’m blowing on is the determination to live as God needs you to today. The question you need to ask yourself is, “How do I want to live today?” Putting it in simple terms, you have two choices:
- I want to live – being a positive example to others.
- I want to die – being a negative example to others.
I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the Lord has done. Psalm 118:7 NLT
Life or Death – which is your decision?
Each day we have a choice!
Today I’m living, how about you? Are you with me?
I’m reminding you how much God loves you and needs you to live and be a strong, determined woman of FAITH!
It’s hard work to stay positive and to want the desire to live as a positive example each day. If you think it’s easy, it’s NOT! Some days we will do great while others we won’t. That’s the truth! Yet we have the incredible opportunity to start over at the beginning of each new day with strength from God.
This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NLT
So now what?
I motivated you enough to come into agreement, BUT then what?
The strength of women coming together is powerful so this is my suggestion – find one or a few women who will build you up with encouragement and prayer. Women who are seeking God daily, ones who know how to keep sensitive confidential, and ones that will pray for you to help give you the encouragement to get through the day.
Who came to your mind? Give her a text, email, or call and ask her out for coffee or lunch to connect and see if she is the one you can begin to build a relationship with. If no one came to your mind – start praying for that person. God will open doors of connection when we are seeking and needing it.
Back to the original question - Did you ever think you’d be where you are today?
You have a choice, what will it be?
