Squeeze God Into Your Summer—You Can Do It!
Jul 07, 2025Summer’s here—and doesn’t it just flip everything upside down? The kids are home. You’re off to a class reunion, planning meals for a house full of guests, or catching up with old friends you haven’t seen in forever. It’s fun, it’s full, and… it’s exhausting.
And let’s be honest—your time with God might be the first thing to slide off the schedule.
But that doesn’t mean it has to disappear altogether. Just because your routine is different doesn’t mean God goes on vacation. In fact, He wants to walk right through your summer chaos with you.
How Can We Fit God Into Our Summer Life?
Waking up early? Ugh. That doesn’t sound very “summery,” does it?
But what if instead of giving up on quiet time with God, we got creative with it?
Try these out:
đźšż Shower time = Scripture time. As that water hits, speak out your memory verses. Let God’s Word soak into you.
🚶♀️ Walking or biking? Instead of zoning out, repeat Bible verses or whisper prayers while you move. Your body gets stronger, and so does your spirit.
đź“– Bathroom break? Yep. Stash a devotional in there and grab two minutes with God.
📚 Swap the novel. Replace one chapter of fiction with a powerful Bible story—think Ruth or Esther. These women had real struggles and BIG faith. Check it out.
Your Summer Challenge: Keep It Simple!
You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t need hours. You just need to show up with what you’ve got.
👉 Instead of saying, “I’ll get back on track when summer’s over,” decide that God stays in the plan.
Here's Your Action List:
- Pick one time this week to read your Bible instead of your novel. Esther’s story is a page-turner!
- Grab a verse to memorize. Try Proverbs 3:5–6 or Psalm 23. Say it while you're driving or doing dishes.
- Make your devotion time mobile. Bathroom, shower, walking path—wherever!
- Tell a friend. Text her the verse you're working on.
- Make peace with the “messy” time. Even 3 minutes with God is powerful. Don’t wait for perfect.
Summer doesn’t have to pull you away from God. It can actually bring you closer, if you let Him into your day.
Let’s rejoice —even when it’s unpredictable—and let’s commit to finding those little nuggets of time to grow with God. You’ve got this, and He’s with you every step.
